Collective Personal
This year marks 50 years since the tragic events of 1974 in Cyprus, and in response to this significant anniversary, the “Collective Personal” exhibition opens its doors to the public, offering a unique space for reflection, understanding, and dialogue about the profound loss, widespread displacement, and lasting division between Greek-Cypriot and Turkish-Cypriot communities.
“Collective Personal” brings together a diverse group of artists whose works delve into the complex emotions and narratives stemming from Cyprus’s turbulent history. The exhibition captures the deep, unresolved wounds that continue to shape the collective psyche of both communities. Through art, visitors are invited to contemplate how historical events influence present realities and how trauma is passed down through generations.
